About Us

Established in 2004 by owner Alison Kerr, Corton Plants has grown from a single polytunnel to a successful traditional plant nursery, with seven polytunnels housing over 200 plant varieties.

Located at South Corton Farm, Alloway, a working dairy farm, we are easily found just off the A77. Our beautiful country location offers a quiet gardener's haven to browse and select our quality plants.

Our staff are dedicated plant lovers who can offer expert advice and a personal service from helping you to choose the best plants for your garden to advice on how to care for your plants.

We are committed to offering a wide selection of plants and in 2010 have erected our first twin-span tunnel. We have also created a new car parking area.

We are passionate about plants and that's our main priority. You won't find a tearoom or gifts for the home at our nursery. But you will find good quality plants, at reasonable prices, all home grown in Ayrshire by helpful, knowledgeable staff.

Our History

Corton Plants Nursery began trading in 2004 after Alison left a 15 year career in banking to start up a bedding plant business mainly filling hanging baskets and selling multi pack bedding plants. Alison attended Auchincruive College, studying Horticulture on a part time basis and developing the business from home, the Kerr family farm.

The nursery has grown year on year through word of mouth and is now a well established successful business. The photographs below show our expansion over the last few years.
